LegCo Panel on Transport observes reclamation works of Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (with photos)

     The Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Transport conducted a visit to observe the reclamation works of Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities (HKBCF) of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge near Tung Chung today (February 3) to better understand its works progress.

     Members boarded the boat in Tung Chung this afternoon and observed the reclamation works of HKBCF at sea. They received a briefing on the works progress by the Project Manager of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Project Management Office, Highways Department, Mr Chow Chun-wah.  Members expressed concerns about the project cost, works progress, boundary crossing facilities and the impact on environment and ecology.

     Members participating in the visit included Chairman of the Panel, Mr Michael Tien, Deputy Chairman, Mr Tang Ka-piu, and Mr Paul Tse, Mr Gary Fan and Mr Chan Han-pan who are Panel members, as well as Mr Wong Ting-kwong who is a non-Panel member.
