The Police will implement special traffic arrangements in West Kowloon, New Territories South and Hong Kong Island to facilitate the Hong Kong Marathon 2015 this Sunday (January 25).
Kowloon West

(A) Road closure and diversion
Special traffic arrangements will be implemented in phases as follows:
Phase I ˇV starting from 12.45am on January 25
Road closure:
(a) Southbound West Kowloon Highway between Mei Ching Interchange and Western Harbour Crossing;
(b) A slip road from northbound Lin Cheung Road leading to southbound West Kowloon Highway;
(c) Southbound Lin Cheung Road between its junction with the slip road heading Tsim Sha Tsui and West Kowloon Highway;
(d) A slip road from northbound Hoi Wang Road leading to southbound West Kowloon Highway; and
(e) The bus lane from westbound Jordan Road elevated road leading to Western Harbour Crossing Toll Plaza Bus Stops.
Traffic diversion:
(a) Traffic along northbound Lin Cheung Road cannot turn to the slip road leading to southbound West Kowloon Highway;
(b) Traffic along southbound Lin Cheung Road will be diverted to the slip road heading Tsim Sha Tsui;
(c) Traffic along northbound Hoi Wang Road cannot turn to the slip road leading to southbound West Kowloon Highway;
(d) Traffic along westbound Ngo Cheung Road cannot turn to the slip road leading to southbound West Kowloon Highway; and
(e) Traffic along westbound Jordan Road elevated road cannot turn left to the bus lane leading to Western Harbour Crossing Toll Plaza Bus Stops.
Phase II ˇV starting from 1.40am

(a) Northbound Nathan Road between Bowring Street and Salisbury Road;
(b) Southbound Nathan Road between Kimberley Road and Middle Road;
(c) Westbound Kimberley Road between Nathan Road and Carnarvon Road;
(d) Granville Road between Nathan Road and Carnarvon Road;
(e) Cameron Road between Nathan Road and Cameron Lane;
(f) Humphreys Road;
(g) Carnarvon Road between Nathan Road and Bristol Avenue;
(h) Mody Road between Nathan Road and Bristol Avenue;

(c) Traffic along northbound Lin Cheung Road cannot turn to eastbound Jordon Road;
(d) Traffic along eastbound Jordan Road will be diverted to turn left to northbound Lin Cheung Road;
(e) Traffic along eastbound Austin Road West will be diverted to turn left to northbound Lin Cheung Road;
(f) Traffic along northbound Canton Road will be diverted to turn left to westbound Austin Road West;
(g) Traffic along westbound Jordan Road will be diverted to turn right to northbound Ferry Street;

(m) Traffic along westbound Jordan Road cannot turn left to southbound Nathan Road;
(n) Traffic along southbound Coxˇ¦s Road will be diverted to turn left to eastbound Austin Road;
(o) Traffic along westbound Austin Road will be diverted to turn right to northbound Coxˇ¦s Road;
(p) Traffic along Hillwood Road cannot enter southbound Nathan Road; and
(q) Traffic along Scout Path cannot enter westbound Austin Road.
(B) Car park and hotel access
Vehicular access to or exit from hotels and car parks within the affected area will not be allowed during the respective phases of road closures.
(C) On-street parking
On-street parking spaces at Kimberley Road and the section of Canton Road between Jordan Road and Saigon Street will be suspended from 12.01am to noon on January 25. Vehicles parked on roads temporarily closed during the event will be prohibited to move or enter the race route. All vehicles parked in a way causing obstruction will be towed away.
New Territories South

The following special traffic arrangements will be implemented from 11.45pm on January 24 to 1.30pm on January 25 or when it is safe to re-open the roads to normal vehicular traffic.
Road closure:
(a) Upper Deck of Lantau Link Kowloon bound;
(b) Southbound carriageways of Tsing Kwai Highway, Cheung Tsing Tunnel, Cheung Tsing Highway and Ting Kau Bridge;
(c) The slip road leading from Tuen Mun Road to southbound Ting Kau Bridge;
(d) Exits from Lantau Link to southbound Cheung Tsing Highway;
(e) The slip road leading from Tsing Yi South Bridge, Kwai Chung Road and Tsuen Wan Road to southbound Tsing Kwai Highway;
(f) Eastbound carriageways of Tsing Sha Highway between the access road of Cheung Tsing Tunnel and West Kowloon Highway, Stonecutters Bridge and Nam Wan Tunnel;
(g) The slip road leading from Tsing Yi Hong Wan Road to eastbound Stonecutters Bridge;
(h) The slip road leading from Container Port Road South to eastbound Tsing Sha Highway (Ngong Shuen Chau Viaduct); and
(i) The slip road from Mei Ching Road leading to southbound West Kowloon Highway (except vehicles leaving Container Port via Roundabout 6 to Mei Ching Road and Tsing Kwai Highway (New Territories bound)).
Traffic diversion:
(a) Traffic from Lantau to Kowloon will be diverted via the lower deck of Lantau Link, North West Tsing Yi Interchange, Tsing Yi North Coastal Road, Tsing Tsuen Road, Tsuen Wan Road, Kwai Chung Road, Cheung Sha Wan Road and Lai Chi Kok Road;
(b) Traffic from Lantau to Tuen Mun and Yuen Long will be diverted via the lower deck of Lantau Link and northbound Ting Kau Bridge before reaching Tuen Mun Road and Tai Lam Tunnel;
(c) Traffic from Ma Wan to Kowloon will be diverted via westbound Lantau Link (Kap Shui Mun Bridge), the lower deck of Lantau Link, North West Tsing Yi Interchange, Tsing Yi North Coastal Road, Tsing Tsuen Road, Tsuen Wan Road, Kwai Chung Road, Cheung Sha Wan Road and Lai Chi Kok Road;
(d) Traffic from Ma Wan to Tuen Mun and Yuen Long will be diverted via westbound Lantau Link (Kap Shui Mun Bridge), the lower deck of Lantau Link and northbound Ting Kau Bridge before reaching Tuen Mun Road and Tai Lam Tunnel;
(e) Traffic from Tuen Mun Road and Tai Lam Tunnel intending to use Ting Kau Bridge to go to the Airport, Lantau and Ma Wan will be diverted to use Tuen Mun Road, Tsuen Wan Road, Tsuen Tsing Interchange, Tsing Tsuen Road, Tsing Yi North Coastal Road and the slip road leading to Lantau Link before reaching Lantau Link airport bound;
(f) Traffic from Tuen Mun Road and Tai Lam Tunnel intending to use Ting Kau Bridge to go to Kowloon will be diverted to use Tuen Mun Road, Tsuen Wan Road, Kwai Chung Road, Cheung Sha Wan Road and Lai Chi Kok Road;
(g) Traffic from Tsing Yi South intending to use Tsing Sha Highway to go to Kowloon will be diverted to use Tsing Yi Road, Kwai Tsing Road, Kwai Tsing Interchange, Tsuen Wan Road, Kwai Chung Road, Cheung Sha Wan Road and Lai Chi Kok Road; and
(h) Traffic from Kwai Chung Container Port intending to use Tsing Sha Highway to go to Kowloon will be diverted to use Container Port Road South, Hing Wah Street West and Lai Po Road.
The above road closures will not affect traffic from Kowloon or New Territories East via Route 3 or Route 8 to various destinations, including the Airport, the Lantau, Ma Wan and New Territories West.

Depending on the exact finishing time or when situation warrants, the following special traffic arrangements will be implemented:

(a) Eastbound Connaught Road West flyover between Shing Sai Road and Rumsey Street;
(b) Man Po Street; and
(c) A slip road from Connaught Road West flyover to Man Po Street.
Traffic diversion:
(a) Traffic along northbound Hill Road flyover will be diverted to eastbound Connaught Road West at grade; and
(b) Traffic along eastbound Shing Sai Road will be diverted to eastbound Connaught Road West.
Phase II - from 2.15am to 2.15pm
Eastbound Lung Wo Road and Yiu Sing Street will be closed. Traffic along Man Yiu Street cannot turn left to Yiu Sing Street and eastbound Lung Wo Road.
Phase III - from 4.30am to 1.30pm
Road closure:
(a) Southbound Man Yiu Street between Man Kwong Street and Lung Wo Road; and
(b) Northbound Man Yiu Street between Man Po Street and Man Kwong Street.
Traffic diversion:
(a) Traffic along eastbound Man Kwong Street heading for southbound Man Yiu Street will be diverted to westbound Man Kwong Street via the roundabout between Central Piers 6 and 7; and
(b) Traffic along northbound Man Yiu Street will be diverted to westbound Finance Street.
Phase IV - from 5am to 2.15pm
Road closure:
(a) Eastbound Fenwick Pier Street;
(b) Lung King Street;
(c) Eastbound Convention Avenue between Fenwick Pier Street and Expo Drive East;

(e) Traffic along eastbound Harbour Road will be diverted to turn left to northbound Fleming Road;
(f) Traffic exiting from car parks along eastbound Harbour Road will be diverted to turn right to westbound Harbour Road;

(h) Wan Shing Street between Hung Hing Road and Wan Ying Street will be re-routed from one-way southbound traffic to one-way northbound traffic;

(j) Traffic along northbound Marsh Road will be diverted to Gloucester Road service road or U-turned to southbound Marsh Road for Jaffe Road;
(k) Traffic along eastbound Lockhart Road will be diverted to northbound Marsh Road at grade;
(l) Traffic along eastbound Jaffe Road will be diverted to northbound Percival Street;
(m) Traffic along southbound Percival Street will be diverted to eastbound Lockhart Road;
(n) Traffic along eastbound Hennessy Road heading for Causeway Road will be diverted to southbound Percival Street, Leighton Road, Pennington Street and eastbound Yee Wo Street;
(o) If necessary, traffic along eastbound Hennessy Road cannot turn left to Marsh Road; and
(p) If necessary, traffic along Tin Lok Lane cannot go straight to northbound Marsh Road and must turn to Hennessy Road.
Lifting of pedestrian precinct:
The Chater Road Pedestrian Precinct will remain open to traffic until 3pm or when all major road closures on Hong Kong Island are re-opened to vehicular traffic.
The pedestrian precinct at Lockhart Road (between Cannon Street and East Point Road), East Point Road and Great George Street (between East Point Road and Paterson Street) will remain open to traffic until 3pm or when all major road closures on Hong Kong Island are re-opened to vehicular traffic.
Suspension of parking spaces:
Parking spaces at the following locations will be suspended from 12.01am to 3pm:
(a) Lung King Street;
(b) Coach parking spaces at Expo Drive East;
(c) Jaffe Road between Percival Street and Cannon Street; and
(d) The general pick up/drop off and loading/unloading area on Lung Wo Road north of Star Ferry Multi-Storey Car Park will be suspended from noon to 4pm.
Closure of the Western Harbour Crossing:
The Hong Kong bound tube of the Wesetern Harbour Crossing will be closed from 12.45am to 1.30pm. The Kowloon bound tube will remain open to normal traffic.

(e) The slip roads of Nam On Street, Chai Wan Road, Tai Hong Street, Oi Shun Road, Hong On Street, Taikoo Wan Road, westbound Kingˇ¦s Road at its junction with Healthy Street Central, Tong Shui Road and Wharf Road leading to westbound Island Eastern Corridor; and

(c) Lau Li Street between Hing Fat Street and Electric Road; and
(d) Tsing Fung Street between Hing Fat Street and Electric Road.
Traffic diversion:
(a) Traffic along eastbound Causeway Road heading for Hing Fat Street will be diverted to eastbound King's Road;
(b) Traffic along westbound Kingˇ¦s Road heading for Hing Fat Street will be diverted to westbound Causeway Road;
(c) Traffic along southbound Electric Road will be diverted to turn left to Yacht Street (except for access to Park Towers);
(d) Traffic exiting from Park Towers Car Park will be diverted to Electric Road and Yacht Street;
(e) Traffic along Electric Road heading for Tsing Fung Street will be diverted to Yacht Street; and
(f) Traffic along westbound Whitfield Road cannot turn left to southbound Hing Fat Street.
Phase III - from 4.45am to 10.45am
Road closure:
(a) Westbound Victoria Park Road between the down ramp of westbound Island Eastern Corridor and westbound Gloucester Road (except the slow lane leading to Gloucester Road service road);
(b) The flyover leading from northbound Gloucester Road to westbound Gloucester Road; and
(c) Westbound Island Eastern Corridor between the exit of Eastern Harbour Crossing and the down ramp slip road leading to Man Hong Street (from 4.45am to 10.15am).
Traffic diversion:
(a) Traffic along Tsing Fung Street flyover will be diverted to the slow lane of westbound Victoria Park Road and Gloucester Road service road;
(b) Traffic along northbound Gloucester Road flyover heading for westbound Gloucester Road will be diverted to Gloucester Road service road; and
(c) During the closure of Man Hong Street slip road, traffic from the exit of Eastern Harbour Crossing heading for westbound Island Eastern Corridor will be diverted to Hong On Street or Tai On Street, Shau Kei Wan Road and Kingˇ¦s Road.
Phase IV - from 5am to 2.15pm
Road closure:
(a) Northbound Gloucester Road between an U-turn slip road beneath Tai Hang Road flyover and Great George Street;
(b) Southbound Gloucester Road between Gloucester Road service road and Causeway Road (access to southbound Tai Hang Road flyover is allowed after 10.45am);
(c) Sugar Street;
(d) Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Gloucester Road will be intermittently closed;
(e) Cleveland Street will be intermittently closed; and
(f) Eastbound Kingston Street between Gloucester Road and Paterson Street will be intermittently closed.
Traffic diversion:
(a) Traffic along southbound Victoria Park Road flyover will be diverted to Gloucester Road service road (access to southbound Tai Hang Road flyover is allowed from 10.45am onwards);
(b) Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street cannot turn left to Sugar Street;
(c) Traffic along northbound Tai Hang Road flyover will be diverted to northbound Gloucester Road and Gloucester Road service road; and
(d) Traffic along Great George Street heading for southbound Gloucester Road will be diverted to southbound Tai Hang Road flyover.
(B) Suspension of parking spaces
(a) All parking spaces (except disabled parking spaces) at Hing Fat Street Public Car Park will be suspended from 10pm on January 24 to 3pm the following day;
(b) All on-street parking spaces at eastbound Lockhart Road between Marsh Road and Percival Street will be suspended from 12.01am to 3pm on January 25; and
(c) All on-street metered parking spaces and parking spaces for motorcycles on Tung Lo Wan Road between Lin Fa Kung Street West and Kingˇ¦s Road will be suspended between 3am and 10am on January 25.
Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precincts of the above affected areas will be towed away without prior notice.
Actual implementation of road closure and traffic diversion will be made by the Police at the time depending on traffic conditions in the areas. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of Police on site.
