The Highways Department (HyD) today (January 23) invited tenders for the "Provision of Barrier-free Access Facilities for Highway Structures – Phase 3 Contract 6" (Contract No. HY/2014/12).
The works are expected to commence in May 2015 and will take about 36 months to complete. The works will mainly comprise:
* Construction of 14 lifts and one ramp for six existing footbridges and five existing subways in 11 locations in North District, Sai Kung, Sha Tin, Tai Po, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun;
* Civil works, geotechnical works, electrical and mechanical works, modification works for existing structures, road and drainage works, landscaping works etc associated with the works above; and
* Site investigation works as specified in the Contract.
The Major Works Project Management Office of the HyD has appointed Mannings (Asia) Consultants Limited to design and supervise the construction works. Interested contractors can obtain the tender forms and other particulars from the office of Mannings (Asia) Consultants Limited on 5th Floor, Winning Commercial Building, 46-48 Hillwood Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
The invitation to tender was gazetted today. Submission of tenders will be closed at noon on March 6, 2015 (Friday).
