LegCo Members meet with Tuen Mun and Tai Po District Council members (with photos)

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

     Members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) held meetings today (January 22) with members of the Tuen Mun District Council (DC) and the Tai Po DC respectively in Conference Room 1 and Conference Room 3 of the LegCo Complex to discuss and exchange views on matters of mutual interest.

     During the meeting with the Tuen Mun DC, LegCo Members discussed with DC members on the following issues: cultural and recreational facilities in Tuen Mun District; Tuen Mun Western Bypass; Tuen Mun South Extension of the West Rail Line; the Coastal Railway between Tuen Mun and Tsuen Wan; request to construct Route 10 (Northern Section); and the traffic within Tuen Mun District. The meeting was convened by Mr Albert Ho and attended by Mr Frederick Fung, Ms Starry Lee, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Mr Michael Tien, Mr Steven Ho, Mr Chan Han-pan, Ms Chan Yuen-han, Mr Leung Che-cheung, Ms Alice Mak, Dr Kwok Ka-ki, Mr Poon Siu-ping and Dr Lo Wai-kwok.

     As for the meeting with the Tai Po DC, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on the following issues: development of homestay lodgings to promote the local tourism industry; insufficient car parking spaces in Tai Po District; construction of footbridge network in Tai Po town areas; expansion of the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital; and improving the traffic situation in Tai Po District. The meeting was convened by Ms Emily Lau and attended by Mr Jeffrey Lam, Ms Starry Lee, Mr Chan Hak-kan, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Mr Leung Kwok-hung, Mr James Tien, Mr Frankie Yick, Mr Chan Chi-chuen, Ms Chan Yuen-han, Mr Christopher Cheung, Dr Elizabeth Quat, Mr Martin Liao, Mr Tang Ka-piu and Dr Lo Wai-kwok.
