Mixed arts production "Absent Presentee" examines silence and apathy
**********************************************************

Littlebreath Creative Workshop's latest mixed arts production "Absent Presentee" will be staged in March. Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the production includes a performance and an installation exhibition.

"Absent Presentee" is the group's second full-length work in its "Border Series". Directed by young artist Chan Kwun-fee, the work explores the hidden passion behind silence and apathy. Chan describes her feelings on discovering that people who once shared her viewpoints can turn silent and apathetic when confronted with the judicial process. Such apathy is even more "violent and terrible" than firearms and explosives.

In staging this production, a silent world in the wilderness is depicted through audiovisual installations, live music and dance theatre. The stage design and audiovisual installations for the performance create a seamless stage, allowing the audience and performers to be drawn close together for enhanced effect. Participants can also touch the installations when they visit the exhibition.

Also participating in this production are young choreographer and dancer Ivy Tsui and sound designer Leung Po-wing.

Littlebreath Creative Workshop was founded in 2009. Most of its works are interdisciplinary and experimental, always trying to explore and question our times with bodily movements. Previous works included "Tides In Limbo", "448 Things to Do at 4.48", "Woman.Appetites", "Border States" and "Present Absentee".
