********************************************************

The "Hong Kong Guide" 2015 edition produced by the Survey and Mapping Office (SMO) of the Lands Department is now on sale.

The 408-page new Hong Kong Guide provides accurate and detailed maps covering the whole territory of Hong Kong. It also contains indexes of "streets", "places and villages", "estates and buildings", "schools", "public services", and "leisure and cultural facilities", as well as information on public transportation. The "streets" and "places and villages" indexes can serve as the gazetteers for Chinese and English names of streets and geographical places in Hong Kong.

This year, the Guide features the theme of exploration for fun on Lantau Island. Introducing the unique natural landscape and ecology of the island in four aspects, namely "Heritage and Leisure", "Religious Buildings", "Trails and Campgrounds" and "Natural Ecology", it takes readers on journeys of exploration.

The "Hong Kong Guide" 2015 edition, priced at $110, is available at all SMO sales outlets, six post offices (General Post Office, Kowloon Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, Kwun Tong and Tuen Mun Central), certain local bookstores and SMO's online map shop "Hong Kong Map Service"  (www.hkmapservice.gov.hk). Information on SMO sales outlets can be found at: www.landsd.gov.hk/mapping/en/pro&ser/outlet.htm .  For enquiries, please call 2231 3187.
