Twenty-one building plans approved in November

     The Buildings Department approved 21 building plans in November, with 10 on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, six were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, seven were for commercial developments, four were for factory and industrial developments and four were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on nine building projects that, when completed, will provide 20 035 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 408 units, and 141 891 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 13 building projects.

     The department also issued 11 occupation permits, with four on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and four in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 47 107 sq m, involving 849 units, and 11 298 sq m was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in November totalled about $1.5 billion.

     In addition, five demolition consents involving five building structures were issued.

     The department received 4 695 reports about unauthorised building works in November, and issued 439 removal orders on unauthorised works.
