Fatal traffic accident in Castle Peak

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Castle Peak this morning (January 14) in which a 62-year-old woman was killed.

     At about 10.15am, a rubbish truck driven by a 55-year-old man was travelling along Wu On Street towards Wu Shan Road. When approaching the refuse collection point at 101 Wu Shan Road, it reportedly hit the 62-year-old woman.

     The woman was trapped under the rubbish truck. Sustaining serious leg injuries, she was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 10.55am.

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in late February.

     Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
