FS speaks on Policy Address (with video)
****************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, at a media session on the 2015 Policy Address at the Legislative Council Complex today (January 14):

Reporter: Mr Tsang, do you think the Chief Executive's criticism directly at the Hong Kong University student paper, is it a good time for him to do that because there is already a very divided society in Hong Kong right now?

Financial Secretary: I think we should allow him to justify that. You will have a press conference later on. This is his opinion.

Reporter: Do you see that there's a need to raise tax right now given this Policy Address and ...?

Financial Secretary: At this very moment, I don't see a need to raise tax.

Reporter: And do you think then that the $50 billion earmarked for the retirement protection, is that going to be given actual policies, fruitful policies, in the near future given what the medical funds that were allocated several years back have still yet to result in any actual policies?

Financial Secretary: For the money that we have reserved, we still have to await the study by the respective bureaux. And then when they have come up with some concrete proposals, then we will examine the feasibility. Thank you.
