One of Australia's largest vineyard owners and managers, Australian Vintage, announced today (January 5) that it has opened its first Asian office in Hong Kong, leveraging the city's strategic location to manage its growing business in the region.

Australian Vintage has been creating fine wines for four generations. With the rapid growth of its business in Asia, the company decided to set up its regional headquarters in Hong Kong, alongside an office in London.

The General Manager Asia of Australian Vintage, Mr Nicolas Heretiguian, said, "Meeting our clients and partners face to face is important. Hong Kong is strategically located at the heart of Asia. It is very convenient for us to travel throughout Asia to meet them. In addition, Hong Kong is now the Asian wine hub and a bridge to Mainland China, where wine distribution is growing. It is the perfect solution for us to expand our business in the region."

He added, "Setting up an office in Hong Kong is quick and easy. We will use our office in Hong Kong to develop our distribution footprint in Asia. I think this will make a big difference to set our brands as leading Australian wine brands in the region, as they are in Australia."

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Mr Andrew Davis welcomed the opening of Australian Vintage in Hong Kong. He said, "The global demand for wine is shifting from traditional wine consumption markets, like Europe and the US, to Asia, particularly Mainland China. Hong Kong is the gateway to Mainland China and is located in the heart of Asia. It is the ideal place for companies like Australian Vintage that want to grow their business in Mainland China and Asia."
