As the New Year is rolling in, would you ever consider buying some handicrafts, paintings or caricatures to decorate your home or office? Or how about a sketch or silhouette cutting of you and your family?

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department invites members of the public to visit the new phase of the Arts Corner at Hong Kong Park which will be launched tomorrow (January 1, 2015), where they will be amused by visiting various interesting handicrafts and arts services stalls. Admission is free.

With an aim of enhancing public interest in arts and enriching the arts atmosphere in Hong Kong, the Arts Corner will make the park an even more appealing and enjoyable place for visitors.

From tomorrow until December 31, 2015 the Arts Corner, which comprises 10 handicrafts and arts services stalls, will be open between noon and 6pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. The corner is situated at the outdoor area next to the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware inside the park.

In addition to displaying and selling various kinds of handicrafts and artistic works such as ornaments, floral art, dough models, puppets, carvings, pottery and sand paintings, cultural and arts services such as painting, silhouette cutting, sketching and caricature will also be available at the corner.

Members of the public can choose their favourite handicrafts or artworks to suit their own interest.

"This is the 15th phase of the Arts Corner at Hong Kong Park since its first launch in 2002, and the event has been well received in past years. Apart from stopping over at the Arts Corner, park-goers can also visit other facilities of the park such as the conservatory and the aviary, and spend some pleasant time there," a spokesman for the department said.
