Fishermen of seven homeports to collect chits for registration of ex-gratia allowance claims from next week

     Fishermen of seven homeports, with vessels not exceeding 15 metres in length and affected by marine works projects in the waters at the south of Tsuen Wan, Tsing Yi and Lantau, may collect chits for registration of ex-gratia allowance claims from next Monday (January 5). The seven homeports are Tsuen Wan, Cheung Chau, Peng Chau, Ma Wan, Tsing Lung Tau, Yam O and Yau Ma Tei.

     An inter-departmental working group (IWG), which comprises representatives from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, the Marine Department, the Home Affairs Department, the Lands Department and relevant works departments, has been set up to follow up on the arrangement. The fishermen concerned have been informed of the registration arrangements separately.

     All claimants have to follow the date, time and venue specified below to collect the chits and turn up personally following the details specified in the chits to register their claims. Details of the chit distribution are listed below:

For fishermen of Tsuen Wan

For fishermen of Cheung Chau

Date: January 6 (Tuesday), 7 (Wednesday), 8 (Thursday), 13 (Tuesday) and 15 (Thursday)
Time: 10.15am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4.30pm
Venue: The Main Arena, 1/F, Praya Street Sports Centre, Cheung Chau Municipal Services Building, 2 Tai Hing Tai Road, Cheung Chau

For fishermen of Peng Chau
