BHT Theatre to stage "My Dream Home Gone" in February
*****************************************************

Local drama group BHT Theatre will perform its new work, entitled "My Dream Home Gone", in February next year. The production is one of the programmes in the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's "New Energy Series".

The story begins as the Lee family's public housing unit is about to be demolished. They have received a notification letter from the Housing Authority for transfer and removal. They can also opt to purchase a unit under the Home Ownership Scheme - an opportunity they have long waited for. Mrs Lee prays to the Goddess of Mercy every day to let them leave public housing to become home owners; Mr Lee hopes to be able to scrape together a down payment even though he is under the thumb of the business conglomerates; elder son Ka-shing keeps crying aloud, "These opportunities ain't for me"; and little daughter Ka-yan watches what is going on like a bystander. Will the family achieve its impossible dream eventually?

"My Dream Home Gone" is written by Chan Siu-tung and co-directed by Wu Chun-him and Benny Yu. The cast includes Gladys Liu, Yu Hon-ting, Alice Fung and Peter Chan.

Founded in 2011 by Benny Yu, Wu Chun-him and Chan Siu-tung, BHT Theatre is dedicated to creating scripts that represent local culture. The company is committed to making productions to present young people's thoughts with a sense of humour. The first production by the company, "Love Story of Moses", made its debut in 2011. In 2013, its second production, "USELESS", won Best Screenplay and was nominated for Best Overall Performance at the 6th Hong Kong Theatre Libre. "My Dream Home Gone" is the company's third production.

"My Dream Home Gone" will be performed in Cantonese at 8pm from February 6 to 8 (Friday to Sunday) and 3pm on February 7 and 8 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Black Box Theatre of the Kwai Tsing Theatre. Tickets priced at $160 are now available at URBTIX. A maximum discount of 20 per cent is offered for the "New Energy Series" and group booking packages. This programme contains smoking scenes and coarse language, and is suitable for ages 12 or above.
