Renowned scenographer Tsang Man-tung to share experiences in lectures and workshops
************************************************************

Renowned scenographer Tsang Man-tung will share more than 20 years of experience in drama education in "ScenoZen Scenography Ceremony - Lectures and Workshops", presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, next year.

Tsang said, "ScenoZen is a ceremony on scenography that combines sensuousness and Zen. In quiet meditation, everything is infinite; the same context differs according to one's state of mind." Tsang will lead participants to experience this process, which merges "scenography, Zen and ritual". Participants will also learn how to focus and express their creativity in a quiet state of mind. Through "looking", they will envision themselves as being in the midst of the process, which will lead them to know the next move and the progress of the scenes. The stage designer becomes none other than the playwright, the director, the actor and the audience, all breathing and living in the space on stage and being part of it. This is the soul and essence of scenography.

The workshops will also be held in the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space 2015 "SharedSpace-SpaceLab".

Tsang has received numerous awards in his field, such as Best Set Design, Best Costume Design and Best Make-up and Image Design at the Hong Kong Drama Awards. In 2003 and 2008, he received the Rising Artists Award (Theatre) and the Award for Best Artist (Theatre) respectively at the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards presented by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. He also received an Honorable Mention for Set Design at World Stage Design 2009 with "No End" and "UBU". In 2012 and 2013, he received the Outstanding Design for Dance prize at the Hong Kong Dance Alliance Dance Awards with "Two Swallows - Ode to Wu Guanzhong" and Best Set Design at the Hong Kong Drama Awards with "The Wild Boar" respectively.
