Road Safety Council to promote anti-drink driving, anti-drug driving and driving attentively message

The following is issued on behalf of the Road Safety Council:

     With a view to enhancing public awareness of anti-drink driving and anti-drug driving during the Christmas and New Year festive periods to remind the public to drive attentively, Road Safety Council members held the "2014 Anti-3'D' Winter Kick-off Ceremony" at Southorn Playground in Wan Chai this evening (December 23) to promote anti-drink driving, anti-drug driving and driving attentively messages.

     The Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic Hong Kong Island, Mr Chu Hon-keung, gave a speech at the ceremony; while the officiating guests distributed anti-drink driving and anti-drug driving leaflets to the public on Lockhart Road.

     Police reminded the public not to drive after drinking any alcohol or taking drugs, and added that drivers should be attentive when driving to avoid endangering their own lives and other people's, especially during the festive periods.
