Traffic arrangements in Kowloon for Christmas

     The Police will implement special traffic arrangements in Tsim Sha Tsui on December 24 (Wednesday) in phases to help facilitate celebration of Christmas.
 
Phase I (implemented from 7pm onwards)
 
1. Southbound Canton Road between Kowloon Park Drive and Salisbury Road will be closed;
2. Eastbound Haiphong Road between Canton Road and Hankow Road will be closed;
3. Eastbound Peking Road between Canton Road and Kowloon Park Drive will be closed;
4. Westbound Salisbury Road between Canton Road and Chatham Road South will be closed;
5. Westbound Salisbury Road Underpass will be closed;
6. Granville Road between Chatham Road South and Science Museum Road will be re-routed to one way eastbound and restricted for the use of franchised buses and Green minibuses (GMBs) only;
7. Traffic along southbound Canton Road will be diverted to u-turn to northbound Canton Road outside China Hong Kong City or to southbound Kowloon Park Drive;
8. Traffic along northbound Kowloon Park Drive cannot turn to southbound Canton Road;
9. Traffic along southbound Nathan Road cannot turn right to westbound Salisbury Road;
10. Traffic along westbound Salisbury Road will be diverted to northbound Chatham Road South;
11. Traffic along southbound Chatham Road South will be diverted to eastbound Salisbury Road; and
12. Traffic along southbound Chatham Road South cannot turn left to eastbound Granville Road, which will be restricted for the use of franchised buses and GMBs only.
 
Phase II (implemented from 7.30pm onwards)
 
1. Kowloon Park Drive, Star Ferry Bus Terminus, Haiphong Road, Peking Road, Middle Road, Ashley Road, Ichang Street, Hankow Road, Lock Road, eastbound Salisbury Road between Canton Road and Chatham Road South, northbound Nathan Road between Salisbury Road and Granville Road, southbound Nathan Road between Mody Road and Salisbury Road, and eastbound Salisbury Road Underpass will be closed;
2. Traffic along southbound Canton Road will be diverted to u-turn to northbound Canton Road outside China Hong Kong City;
3. Franchised buses along southbound Nathan Road will be diverted to turn right to either westbound Public Square Street or westbound Jordan Road; and
4. Traffic along southbound Nathan Road will be diverted to turn to Mody Road.
 
Phase III (additional traffic arrangements may be implemented when situation warrants)
 
1. Bristol Avenue, Hart Avenue, Hanoi Road, Blenheim Avenue, Minden Row, Hau Fook Street, Cameron Lane, Cameron Road, Humphreys Avenue, Prat Avenue, Minden Avenue, northbound Nathan Road between Granville Road and Bowring Street, southbound Nathan Road between Granville Road and Mody Road, Carnarvon Road between Granville Road and Nathan Road, Mody Road between Nathan Road and Chatham Road South, Chatham Road South between Mody Road and Salisbury Road, and Salisbury Road between Chatham Road South and Mody Lane will be closed;
2. Traffic along southbound Nathan Road will be diverted to turn left to eastbound Granville Road;
3. Traffic along southbound Chatham Road South will be diverted to turn left to eastbound Mody Road;
4. Traffic along westbound Mody Road will be diverted to turn right to northbound Chatham Road South;
5. Traffic along westbound Salisbury Road wil be diverted to turn right to Mody Lane;
6. Traffic along southbound Mody Lane will be diverted to turn left to eastbound Salisbury Road;
7. Traffic along northbound Chatham Road South cannot turn left to westbound Hart Avenue; and
8. Traffic along nouthbound Chatham Road South cannot turn left to westbound Cameron Road.
 
     Vehicular access to and from hotels within the affected area will not be permitted during the period of road closure.
 
     Car parks within the affected area will be closed at the same time when the respective phases of road closure commence.
 
     All on-street parking in the southern area of Tsim Sha Tsui (i.e. the south of Austin Road and Cheong Wan Road) will be suspended from 3pm on December 24 to 3am the following day. All illegally parked vehicles will be towed away.
 
     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to drive with care and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police on site.
