Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, after attending the meeting of the Panel on Home Affairs of the Legislative Council this morning (December 12):
Secretary for Home Affairs: The occupation movement has ended after the Police cleared the streets yesterday. The operation which went smoothly. Hong Kong is a civilised society. I hope that in the days ahead, people with different political opinions will stay united and display a sense of cohesion in society. What is most important is to move forward towards our common goal of universal suffrage for our Chief Executive (CE election) in 2017.
