SHA's Commendation Scheme Presentation Ceremony (with photos)

     The Secretary for Home Affairs (SHA), Mr Tsang Tak-sing, today (December 2) presented commendation certificates and award pins to 35 people for their outstanding contribution to the promotion of sports and recreation, arts and culture, and community greening.

     The SHA's Commendation Scheme Presentation Ceremony was held this afternoon at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Tsim Sha Tsui. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Tsang expressed his gratitude to the awardees for their continuous devotion and tireless efforts in promoting the development of arts and culture, sports and recreation as well as community greening over the years for the benefit of society.  

     "Today's awardees have served the community with their talents, expertise and experience in their respective fields," Mr Tsang said. He urged the awardees to keep up their efforts and join with the Government in bringing more vibrancy to arts and culture as well as vigour in daily life and greenery to the city.  

     The SHA's Commendation Scheme, introduced in 2002, aims to recognise individuals who make outstanding contributions in different sectors, so as to encourage more people to make good use of their talents and work together in driving the community forward.
