The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority:
According to the reports to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) from banks as at 2pm today (November 26), 12 branches of 11 banks were affected and temporarily closed now. The HKMA has requested banks to resume normal services as soon as circumstances permit. Customers should pay attention to the relevant banks' announcements regarding affected branches and ATMs. The HKMA will also publish on its website relevant updates from time to time.
