Hong Kong and Korea sign MOU on Co-operation in Creative Industries (with photos)

     The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, representing the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Co-operation in the Creative Industries with the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, Mr Kim Jong-deok, in Seoul today (November 26).

     The MOU provides a framework to facilitate exchanges and co-operation between Hong Kong and Korea in creative industries through activities such as information and human resource exchanges, education, training, research and the facilitation of business matching.

     Mr So said he was impressed by Korea's achievements in promoting creative industries, and welcomed closer bilateral co-operation in this area.

     "Hong Kong and Korea are ideal creative partners. We both value and take pride in the vibrant development of our creative industries.

     "I believe there is a strong potential for greater collaboration between Hong Kong and Korea. This agreement will increase bilateral exchanges, bringing mutual benefits to the continuous growth and sustainable development of the creative economies of the two places," Mr So said.

     The MOU covers various creative sectors including advertising, architecture, design, digital entertainment, film, music, television, and printing and publishing.

     Potential co-operation initiatives include information exchange, experience sharing, training programmes, work attachment and participation in each other's creative events.
