"Morgan's Journey" to offer family experiences of love and friendship (with photo)
***********************************************************

Canada's Robert Morgan promises to delight local audiences with his solo performance children's theatre play "Morgan's Journey" in January. The play is a captivating exploration of joyous yet moving childhood experiences and offers audiences a unique opportunity for active participation.

The story follows Morgan the clown who receives many birthday presents, one of which is a simple sock puppet who becomes his companion. Complications begin when Morgan comes to believe that receiving presents will make him happy for the rest of his life. The audience helps Morgan overcome various difficulties as he experiences the emotions of joy, hope, anger, fear and despair. Along with the help of his puppet and the audience, Morgan decides to leave behind his longing for more and learns valuable lessons about love, trust and friendship.

Morgan's Journey was first presented in Canada in 1982 and won the prestigious Chalmer's Canadian Play Award for "Outstanding Play" in 1987. The play has since become the longest-running children play in Canadian history, and has delighted children and families across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom for more than three decades. It has been described as "a children's theatre classic".

Robert Morgan has won the Chalmer's Canadian Play Award for "Outstanding Play Writing" six times and his creative plays have been awarded "The Best Production" at the Toronto Dora Mavor Moore Award four times. His works have been performed around the world.
