The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo of Israel, Mr Ron Huldai, at the Chief Executive's Office this afternoon (November 24) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Noting that financial and trade relations between Hong Kong and Israel have been growing closer, Mr Leung said the two places would continue to strengthen co-operation and exchanges in technological research and development (R&D).
Mr Leung said he looked forward to closer co-operation between Hong Kong and Israel in innovation and technology development. He also encouraged Israel's technology enterprises to set up business in Hong Kong and to take advantage of Hong Kong's role as a "super-connector" to access the R&D market in the Mainland.
