Production by enra from Japan to deliver fusion of unique digital animation and bodily expression
**********************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present "primitive" by Japanese multimedia dance group enra in December. The performance will deliver to audiences a fusion of unique digital animation and bodily expression.

In the production, animated background images interact with martial arts, gymnastics, juggling, ballet and street dance in a way that will free the audience members' imaginations from the physical limitations of space, gravity and speed. The visual effects used in the show are like those seen in movies.

Theatre-goers will see scenes such as dancers battling against geometrical shapes and playing with lights, as well as seeing ninja sneaking into a traditional Japanese palace. Some of the troupe's signature repertoire and online video excerpts that have won acclaim around the globe, including "Fuma-kai", "Pleiades" and "Torque starter", will be performed in Hong Kong.

The multimedia dance group enra is determined to challenge traditional live performance with different ways of creative expression and believes that there is more potential in the combination of images and performing arts. The projected images are not limited to conventional graphics, but extend to art works and interactive staging as never imagined before.

The troupe comprises top-class performers with advanced skills and expressions who come from various backgrounds. They have performed in Japan, Korea, the Mainland, the US, Romania, Indonesia, France and Qatar. In 2013, enra performed at the official dinner hosted by the Japanese Prime Minister when the International Olympic Committee Evaluation Commission visited Tokyo.
