The Government today (November 21) announced the re-appointment of the Chairman and 10 incumbent members as well as the appointment of a new member to the Social Welfare Advisory Committee (SWAC) for a term of two years with effect from December 1.
Mr Vincent Lo Wing-sang is re-appointed as the Chairman of the SWAC. He is a lawyer by profession and the Chairman of the Hong Kong Red Cross. He has served as the Chairman of the SWAC since December 1, 2012.
The 10 re-appointed members are Ms Anna May Chan Mei-lan, Dr Crystal Cheng Lai-ling, Dr Roy Chung Chi-ping, Mr David Fong Man-hung, Mr Laurence Ho Hoi-ming, Mr Laurence Li Lu-jen, Mr Joseph Man Hung-yee, Ms Theresa Tao Chee-ying, Mr Charles Yang Chuen-liang and Ms Sania Yau Sau-wai.
The new member appointed to the SWAC is Ms Christina Maisenne Lee. She is the Director of Wofoo Social Enterprises. She is also a member of the Action Committee Against Narcotics, the Advisory Committee on Admission of Quality Migrants and Professionals, the Sir Jack Cater Scholarship Fund Selection Committee, the Social Enterprise Advisory Committee and the Town Planning Board.
The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, welcomed the appointments and thanked the outgoing member, Dr Dorothy Chan Yuen Tak-fai, for her valuable contribution to the SWAC.
The SWAC reviews social welfare services from time to time and advises the Government on all matters of social welfare policy.
