In response to the release of the findings and recommendations of the Director of Audit's report on the Provision of Health Services for the Elderly today (November 20), the Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson made the following statement:
The HA noted and welcomed the Director of Audit's report on the Provision of Health Services for the Elderly involving HA operations. Among the five parts of this Director of Audit's report, issues relevant to the HA are included in Part 5 of the report. Areas of HA services covered in the audit include elderly patients' waiting time for first Specialist Outpatient Clinic (SOPC) consultation, geriatric SOPCs, Community Geriatric Assessment Teams (CGATs), cross-cluster arrangements, and SOPC waiting time information.
The HA agreed with the observations and recommendations of the Director of Audit's report. In particular, the HA will work to improve the SOPC services and review as appropriate the CGAT service.
