New version of "Men & Dogs" to be performed by iStage in January
*********************************************************

Local arts group iStage will perform a new version of the acclaimed production "Men & Dogs" in January next year.

The sentimental production follows six stray dogs' experience in order to describe men's thoughts on how they face the unexpected in life. The story begins with five stray dogs who live near one another in a back alley, yet they have never been close. They are joined by former pet dog Piggy, who was lost by his owner and became a stray dog. But despite his newfound freedom, Piggy has never given up on the idea of finding his owner. Under Piggy's leadership, his doggy friends decide to go for it at all costs - to leave their back-alley home of many years and head for "the other shore" to realise their dreams.

Lau Ho-cheung has polished his past production with new initiatives for "Men & Dogs 2015", which will be directed by Lee Kwok-wai. The cast includes Lau Ho-cheung, Lo Man-kit, Ko Kai-cheung, Yip Wing-wong and Fung Chi-yau.

Lau Ho-cheung is an all-round talent in contemporary theatre, accomplished in screenwriting, directing and acting. His "Waiting for the Match" won the Best Script award at the 17th Hong Kong Drama Awards. Lee Kwok-wai has also won five Best Director awards at the Hong Kong Drama Awards.

One of the programmes in the "Re-run Run Shows" series presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Men & Dogs 2015" will be performed in Cantonese at 8pm on January 16 and 17, 2015 (Friday and Saturday) and at 3pm on January 17 and 18, 2015 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Theatre of Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre.
