FS concludes visit to Sydney (with photos)

     The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, today (November 19) spent the last day of his three-day visit to Sydney by meeting with the Governor of New South Wales and the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia.

     Mr Tsang started the day by meeting with the Governor of New South Wales, Mr David Hurley. Both sides agreed to further promote closer links between the two places.

     Another meeting with the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, Mr Glenn Stevens, was held later in the morning. Mr Tsang discussed a wide range of financial and monetary issues with Mr Stevens, including the global economic outlook and the monetary policies in the region as well as the development of offshore Renminbi business in Hong Kong and Australia.

     Having completed the visit, Mr Tsang left Sydney in the afternoon and will return to Hong Kong tonight.

     The three-day visit to Sydney ran from November 17 to 19 following the Financial Secretary's visit to Brisbane from November 13 to 16 for the G20 Leaders' Summit to meet with Australian political and business sectors to strengthen economic and financial ties between Hong Kong and Australia.
