Police strongly condemn acts endangering public order
*****************************************************

Police strongly condemned the acts of protesters who attempted to enter the Legislative Council (LegCo) Complex by force and endangered public order in the small hours today (November 19).

At about 1am, some protesters attempted to force their way into the LegCo Complex and caused damages to various parts of the building. Police, on the request of LegCo, provided assistance at scene.

Protesters repeatedly charged the Police cordon line. Police had to take actions including the use of OC Foam to stop them and defend against attack after advice and warnings had failed.

In the incident, Police arrested four males, aged between 18 and 24, for ¡§criminal damage¡¨ and ¡§assaulting police officer¡¨ respectively. Three male police officers sustained injuries and were sent to hospital for treatment.

Police strongly condemned such acts of the protesters which disrupted public order. Protesters are urged to follow Police officers¡¦ instructions and leave the scene peacefully and orderly.

Police reiterate that any acts endangering public order and public safety will not be tolerated. The Hong Kong community regard that individuals should express their views in a rational and peaceful manner.
