SCED continues to attend APEC ministerial meeting (with photos)

     The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, continued to attend the 26th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting (AMM) today (November 8).

     During the meeting, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization briefed ministers on the progress in the implementation of the Bali Package and the development of the Post-Bali Work Program. Ministers also discussed and considered actions under the priorities of advancing regional economic integration and promoting innovative development and economic reform and growth, as well as ways to support the multilateral trading system.

     On the margins, Mr So met with the Minister of Trade of New Zealand, Mr Tim Groser; the Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Mr Alexei Ulyukayev; and the Deputy Minister of Commerce of Thailand, Mrs Apiradi Tantraporn, to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.

     Mr So will return to Hong Kong this evening.
