The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, visited North District this afternoon (November 7) to exchange views with District Councillors on various issues and to take a close look at transport matters in the district.
Professor Cheung inspected the double-deck bicycle parking racks installed adjacent to Exit A2 of Fanling MTR Station. The utilisation of these racks has been high and operation has been generally smooth since they were trialled in October last year. Moreover, in a bid to strengthen enforcement against the illegal parking of bicycles, a new clearance operation will be implemented on a trial basis in North District for the removal of such bicycles more efficiently and quickly.
