Second-day auction results for Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair stalls

     A total of 210 dry goods stalls and eight thematic stalls were successfully let on the second day auction for stalls at the 2015 Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair yesterday (November 4).

     Over 1 900 people attended the auction at Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Wan Chai from 9am to 9.30pm yesterday, a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

     The average bid price for the dry goods stalls yesterday was $34,096, with the successful bids ranging from $24,200 to $101,000. The highest bid, $101,000, yesterday was about eight times the opening price of $12,550.

     The successful bids of the eight thematic stalls ranged from $51,000 to $86,000, with an average of $65,963, against an opening price of $36,740.

     The auction for the remaining 74 dry goods stalls will be held at 9am today (November 5) at the same venue.

     The spokesman reminded the successful bidders not to assign, sublet, transfer or otherwise part with any of the benefits or obligations of the licence agreement.  Otherwise, the Department may terminate the agreement and the licensee shall immediately vacate the stalls. Licence fee will not be refunded.
