Fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok this morning (November 3) in which a 79-year-old woman was killed.
 
     At about 9.20am, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 29-year-old man was travelling along eastbound Boundary Street. When reaching Portland Street, it reportedly knocked down the woman who was crossing the road.
 
     The woman was trapped under the LGV and rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious multiple injuries, she was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 9.50am.
 
     The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are under way.
