HK icon celebrates 25th birthday

     Since it was opened on November 8, 1989, the Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui has hosted artists from all over the globe performing in ballet to modern dance shows, classical to jazz concerts and Greek tragedies to contemporary plays.

     News.gov.hk spoke with Leisure & Cultural Services Department Chief Manager Elaine Yeung, who has been working at the Cultural Centre since day one. She shared some great memories and her hopes for its future. Award-winning young pianist Rachel Cheung, who will be performing with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations, revealed why she loves playing at the iconic venue.
