The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, will visit Beijing from Monday (November 3) to Wednesday (November 5) for meetings with the relevant Central Government officials in charge of financial and monetary policies to discuss issues of mutual concern.
While in Beijing, Mr Tsang will visit various departments and organisations of the Central People's Government, including the China Securities Regulatory Commission, the China Banking Regulatory Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, the People's Bank of China and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council.
The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, and the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Mr Norman Chan, will join the visit.
Mr Tsang will return to Hong Kong on Wednesday. In his absence, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will act as Financial Secretary.
