The spokesman for the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) today (October 30) said it is expressing its gratitude to blood donors by rolling out a promotion programme from November 1 to 30 as Thanksgiving Day is approaching. Anyone who gives blood during the period will be presented with a set of two buffet discount coupons sponsored by a hotel while stocks last, so donors can share happy moments with their friends and family over good food. Each table will also receive a complimentary 1-pound cake when presenting the coupon.
In addition, a special event will be held from 1pm to 7pm on November 22 (Saturday) at the Mongkok Donor Centre in celebration of the coming Thanksgiving Day. The centre will double as a meeting point for blood donors and blood recipients to mingle and share experiences. Special treats will also be available at the centre on that day during the celebration. All members of the public are welcome to donate blood and join the event at the centre.
