Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tai Po today (October 26) in which a 27-year-old man died.
About 9.20pm, a motorcycle driven by the 27-year-old man was travelling along On Cheung Road towards Po Heung Street, while a private car driven by a 61-year-old man was travelling along Po Heung Street towards On Cheung Road. When turning right into Tai Po Tai Wo Road, the private car reportedly collided with the motorcycle.
Sustained serious head injuries, the 27-year-old man was sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 9.58pm.
The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained pending further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
