The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) will hold Open Days at the EMSD Headquarters, Kowloon Bay, on November 1 and 2 (Saturday and Sunday), featuring a wide range of entertaining and educational programmes for the public to learn more about electrical and mechanical safety, energy efficiency and engineering services. There will be thematic tours, display panels and model exhibitions.
The theme of the Open Days is "We Serve, We Care". The key programmes are as follows:
* Visit to the electrical and mechanical services exhibition area;
* Visit to the interactive energy efficiency exhibits at Education Path;
* Visit to the maintenance base of the government vehicle fleet;
* Visit to the EMSD training centre;
* Exploration of the Kai Tak District Cooling System; and
* Visit to see various types of electric vehicles.
Admission and activities at the Open Days are free. Complimentary shuttle bus services will be provided at MTR Lok Fu Station Exit A during the Open Days from 9.30am to 3.30pm at intervals of about 30 minutes. Visitors may also take free shuttle buses between Telford Plaza and the Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre and then take a two-minute walk via a footbridge to the EMSD Headquarters.
