Civil Aid Service Cadet Corps recruits new batch of non-Chinese speaking members (with photos)
****************************************************

The Civil Aid Service (CAS) Cadet Corps today (October 25) held the 88th Cadet Posting Ceremony. More than 200 new recruits, comprising a new batch of non-Chinese speaking cadets and other local cadets, attended the ceremony. Witnessed by the officiating guest, the Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission, Dr York Chow, they took the oath of enrolment in the CAS Cadet Corps and promised to uphold the spirit of "Strict with Yourself and Others, Serve the Community" and be committed to the values of integrity, mutual respect, self-discipline, team spirit and devotion to service.

Following the establishment of the first non-Chinese speaking platoon in May this year, the Cadet Corps of the CAS has recently recruited about 50 non-Chinese speaking cadets from Delia Memorial School (Hip Wo) and Caritas Tuen Mun Marden Foundation Secondary School, keeping up its efforts to foster an inclusive society.

These non-Chinese speaking cadets come from different religious and cultural backgrounds. After joining the CAS Cadet Corps, they can interact with other local cadets and participate together in diversified training, team activities and community services to acquire useful techniques and leadership skills, thereby broadening their horizons, boosting their confidence and furthering their integration into the community.

As a local youth uniformed group, the CAS Cadet Corps will continue to strengthen training for teenagers with an effort to nurture the young generation for the city's future.
