Office of The Ombudsman holds roving exhibitions (with photo)
*******************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Office of The Ombudsman:

The Office of The Ombudsman is holding a series of exhibitions in different government offices and shopping malls in various districts from late October to December to increase the public's awareness and understanding of the work of the Office.

The Ombudsman, Ms Connie Lau, said today (October 23), "This Office has been the community's watchdog for years to ensure that Hong Kong is served by a fair and efficient public administration which is committed to accountability, openness and quality of service. Our publicity campaign aims to educate the public about how they can lodge complaints about maladministration. The Office will handle in a fair and impartial manner public complaints if they are justified."

The theme of the roving exhibitions corresponds with the Office's new advertising campaign, which has tai chi as its theme and highlights acts of maladministration and the functions of The Ombudsman. The campaign's commercial will be broadcast on television, radio and public transport as well as through online channels for viewing via smartphones, while the print advertisement will be published in newspapers and magazines.

Details of the roving exhibitions can be found in the Appendix.

Members of the public are welcome to visit the exhibitions. Visitors will have a chance to get a souvenir on completion of game activities.

Details of the times for the roving exhibitions can also be found on the website of the Office of The Ombudsman: ofomb.ombudsman.hk/abc/en-us/press_releases/detail/40.
