CE's LegCo Q&A Session rescheduled
**********************************

The Chief Executive's Question and Answer Session (Q&A Session) at the Legislative Council (LegCo) originally scheduled for tomorrow (October 16) has been rescheduled.

A spokesman for the Chief Executive's Office noted that there was an outbreak of serious incidents last night involving the occupation of Lung Wo Road by protesters and ensuing scuffles. In addition, participants of the "occupying movement" are still gathering in the vicinity of the LegCo Complex. There have also been calls for protesters to surround the LegCo Complex during the Q&A Session tomorrow. In view of the above, after security and risk assessments, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government considers that the Q&A Session should be deferred.

As a standard practice, the Chief Executive attends the LegCo Q&A Session four times a year, at which Secretaries of Departments, Heads of Bureaux and Non-official Members of the Executive Council are also present. The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, is committed to maintaining such a practice and will arrange the Q&A Session at an appropriate time.
