Wounding case in Tsim Sha Tsui reclassified as murder

     Police reclassified a wounding case in Tsim Sha Tsui on October 5 as murder today (October 7).

     About 7am on October 5, Police received a report that two men aged 18 and 21, were chopped in a bar on Chatham Road South. The duo sought medical treatment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital by themselves.

     Police later located a 22-year-old man with injuries in Cameron Road. Initial investigation reveals he was one of the suspected assailants in the bar.  

     The 22-year-old man, who was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital for medical treatment in unconscious state, was subsequently certified dead at 1.52am today. A post-mortem examination will be conducted later to ascertain his cause of death.

     Active investigations by Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West are underway.

     Police urged anyone who saw the incident or has information to offer to contact the investigating officers on 9181 5786.
