Protesters urged not to block vehicular traffic to CGO
******************************************************

The Government today (October 6) urges protesters to leave the junction of Lung Wo Road and Tim Wa Avenue to enable the re-opening of the vehicular access to the Central Government Offices (CGO) at Tamar.

A government spokesman said that as the barricades set up by protesters on the footbridge connecting the CGO with Harcourt Road and Tim Mei Avenue have yet to be removed, government staff have to walk through a 2-metre-wide passage on the footbridge to return to their workplace.

"As Lung Wo Road and Tim Wa Avenue are still being blocked by protesters, there is no vehicular access to the CGO. As such, the government headquarters is not able to operate at full capacity, affecting visitors and external activities. The Executive Council meeting tomorrow will be held at Government House instead," he said.

The spokesman urged protesters to leave the junction of Lung Wo Road and Tim Wa Avenue to allow the normal access of Government staff to their offices to serve the public as usual.
