Statement by ExCo Non-official Members
**************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Executive Council Secretariat:

The Non-official Members of the Executive Council (ExCo) today (October 5) issued the following statement on the "Occupy Central" movement:

The Non-official Members of the Executive Council (ExCo) condemn the series of violent acts occurred in the protest areas in the past few days. We do not tolerate any act of violence and appeal to all parties to exercise restraint. Members support the Police's impartial enforcement in maintaining public order.

ExCo Non-official Members call on all participants of the "Occupy Central" movement and all protestors to leave the scene as soon as possible so as to allow the blocked roads and affected public transport services to resume normal and for citizens and students to go back to work and school respectively on Monday.

ExCo Non-official Members also appeal to protestors not to block the access of the Central Government Offices so that civil servants can return to their workplace as usual and continue to provide services to the public.

ExCo Non-official Members urge the Hong Kong Federation of Students to enter into dialogue with the Government on constitutional reform.
