Correctional officers at Tai Lam Correctional Institution today (September 30) seized a small quantity of suspected dangerous drugs contained in a letter sent to a person in custody.
At 4.05pm, officers found a small quantity of white powder inside a letter during a security check on incoming letters. The powder was suspected to be dangerous drug. The case has been reported to the Police for further investigation.
A spokesperson for the Correctional Services Department said, "The department takes every measure to stop the introduction of dangerous drugs into correctional institutions in order to maintain good order and discipline in a drug-free environment for all people in its custody."
