Correctional Services officers stopped a male remand person in custody assaulting another male remand person in custody in Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre yesterday (September 28).
At 9.05am, a 54-year-old remand person in custody suddenly slapped another 39-year-old remand person in custody in the dayroom. Correctional officers at the scene immediately stopped him.
Both remand persons in custody were sent to the centre hospital for examination. The victim sustained injury to his ear and was subsequently transferred to a public hospital for further medical treatment. The assailant had no injury.
The case has been reported to the Police.
Both persons in custody were remanded for the offence of murder.
