Education Bureau's statement on unlawful public meeting on Tim Mei Avenue

     In view of the statement by the Police on the unlawful public meeting being held on Tim Mei Avenue near the Central Government Offices, the Education Bureau issued the following statement:

     A spokesman for the Education Bureau strongly appealed to parents and teachers not to allow underage children and students to participate in or be incited to participate in unlawful activities in order to avoid risking their personal safety. Taking part in unlawful activities might lead to prosecution, conviction and criminal records. Their further studies and employment opportunities might thus be affected. If teachers are convicted as a result of participating in unlawful activities, they will have to bear their legal responsibilities as well as professional- and career-related consequences.
