Appointments to Occupational Retirement Schemes Appeal Board

     The Government announced today (September 26) that the Financial Secretary, in exercise of the authority delegated by the Chief Executive under the Occupational Retirement Schemes Ordinance (ORSO) (Cap. 426), has appointed Ms Cynthia Chung Wing-suet, Ms Giovanna Kwong Fung-ping and Ms Miranda So as Chairman, Deputy Chairman and new panel member of the Occupational Retirement Schemes Appeal Board (ORSAB) respectively.

     The Financial Secretary has also re-appointed Ms Ivy Cheung Wing-han, Dr Stella Cho Lung Pui-lan and Ms Cecilia Lee Sau-Wai as ORSAB panel members. The appointments are for a term of two years with effect from October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2016, both dates inclusive.

     The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, welcomed the appointments and re-appointments to the ORSAB.

     "The ORSAB comprises professionals with various areas of expertise and experience in the operation of the financial market," Professor Chan said.

     "Ms Chung is a solicitor and has been Deputy Chairman of the ORSAB since 2012. I believe that under her leadership, the ORSAB will continue to uphold its impartiality. I also welcome the newly appointed and re-appointed panel members of the ORSAB."

     Professor Chan also paid tribute to Mr Paul Shieh Wing-tai and Ms Wendy Ng Wan-yee, the outgoing Chairman and member of ORSAB respectively.

     The ORSAB was established in accordance with Section 61 of the ORSO to determine appeals against decisions of the Registrar of Occupational Retirement Schemes as specified in the ORSO.
