The Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Transport continued its duty visit to Singapore today (September 25) by meeting with members of the Parliament and visiting the public transport facilities.
The delegation visited the Parliament of Singapore and met with the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Transport, Mr Cedric Foo and Mr Seng Han-thong, in the morning. They exchanged views on how to provide efficient public transport service to a large number of commuters and to ensure smooth road traffic in a densely populated city.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the SBS Transit, a leading bus and rail operator in Singapore, and received a briefing on their rail operations and Intelligent Route Information System. The delegation then visited the North East Line's Operations Control Centre. They also took a ride of the Light Rail Transit to Sengkang Station and toured the Sengkang Integrated Transport Hub.
The delegation will visit the Land Transport Authority tomorrow (September 26) and return to Hong Kong in the afternoon.
