Three Legislative Council (LegCo) Members conducted a site visit today (September 23) to Po Toi Island (Island) to follow up on a complaint case relating to water and electricity supply, public toilet facility and transport arrangement on the Island.
Members arrived the Island at Tai Wan Pier by ferry in the morning. Accompanied by representatives of the Environment Bureau, Development Bureau, Islands District Office and related Government Departments, Members walked along the steep and narrow pedestrian passage frequently used by the islanders to better understand their request for improving the roadworks and installing additional lighting along the passage.
Members also visited the Nam Tam travel passage and different public facilities in Tai Wan area.
Members participating in the site visit included LegCo Redress System Duty Roster Members Mr Leung Yiu-chung (convener), Dr Kenneth Chan and Mr Tang Ka-piu.
A closed meeting between Members and representatives of the Administration and the deputation was held at the Island's Village Office after the site visit.
