SHA attends opening ceremony of 17th Asian Games (with photos)

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, began his visit in Incheon, Korea, yesterday (September 19), and attended the opening ceremony of the 17th Asian Games Incheon 2014 to support the Hong Kong athletes. This year, the Asian Games is taking place in Incheon from September 19 to October 4. The Hong Kong delegation comprises a record-breaking number of 472 athletes, representing Hong Kong in 31 events.

     Mr Tsang today (September 20) watched events in which Hong Kong athletes were taking part, including badminton, basketball and cycling. He encouraged the athletes to try their best and unleash their potential, and to strive for excellent results for Hong Kong.  

     Tomorrow morning (September 21), Mr Tsang will continue to watch events in which Hong Kong athletes are participating. In the evening, he will depart for Seoul to meet with officials responsible for cultural, sports and youth matters.
